School Fundraising Idea - "Secret Admirer Notes"

My school did these little "secret admirer notes" one time. We had some really cute little cards that you could buy for like a dollar. Then you wrote whatever you wanted to say, and put who it was for, and what homeroom they were in. Then you turned it into the little secret admirer box, or whatever, and whenever the delivery day was, the notes were delivered to the classes. Girls would surely love the idea as they like to pursue guys with cards, love letters, flowers and write poems. Its really effective.

Here is an example:

There is a special something about you...
Something...that draws me to you
and makes me want to get to know you better.
Something...that stirs-up my emotions
every time I see you;
every time I hear or speak your name
I really don't understand why I feel this way,
or, what this is all about;
I only know that my heart tells me
—with each and every pounding beat—
that there is something special about you. ^_^

When you look at Fundraising Programs for your Organization, are these the key factors that affect your decisions?
• Expense
• Return on Investment
• Ease of Implementation
• Broad appeal/Usefulness to Donors
• Can it be repeated

Wouldn’t the ideal Fundraiser be one where you receive residual income from your efforts? Run the program one time and receive income every month?

How about offering your supporters a product that they can use every day-one that saves them money on their everyday purchases? What if you weren’t selling them anything-you were giving it away for FREE?

My Shopping Genie™ is a Web Application that rides on top
of Google and all of the major search engines and brings the user the best deals that can be found on the Internet for the item(s) they are searching for.

Here’s the best part. The Genie is completely brandable. You can put your organization name and logo on every Genie that you give away. Whenever someone uses your Genie, they will see your name and logo right there-on page one of every search engine!

You give the Genie away – FREE - When they use the Genie, you can receive Pay per Click and Pay per Lead commissions from the merchants that the Genie recommends to your customer!

Every Fundraising Program requires an initial investment, and the Genie is no different. The cost to become a Licensed Distributor with unlimited give-away rights is $199.00 plus a $29.00 monthly maintenance fee.

If your organization gave away 50 Genies every month for a year that would be a residual income of $13,500.00!
That’s an ROI of 2468%!!

Every active Genie that you give away generates $2-$4 per month for your organization! How many can your organization give away?

Find out how the Genie can be Your Ultimate Fundraiser! Download your FREE copy of the Genie and take it for a test drive.

HaveApps offer a fundraising web application and software program for schools, churches, sports teams and other nonprofit groups.

Its a great program that allows a fundraiser group to promote products for sale on their own website with their own unique domain name. Fundraising Provider™ takes care of all the distribution and management of the program for the fundraising group, and the group gets up to 50% profit for the fundraiser.

I suggest checking it out.

I don't think this is a good idea for schools. School is a learning environment and encouraging such a distraction on kids that don't need it, teachers that don't need that type of distraction either, and putting such ideas into the minds of younger kids is just wrong. It does not support the children mentally. Some kids will get plenty of cards and other little. Mind games will start and bulling issues will prevail.
I like Matthew and Mikes ideas better. ROI is a better way to go and continuity of the cause on a long term basis is key.

I like the personalisation of these secret admirer notes, but I am not sure that this would be the most effective way of raising funds. I do however think that this could be one of a number of school fundraising ideas that together will help generate funds across the school.

This looks like a great idea, we have a charity organisation over here in the UK that specialises in school fundraiser ideas , I imagine in the US it's just as hard for publicly funded schools to be able to afford the educational schemes that they want to persue, keep up the good work =)
