3 Great Tips on How to Make a Fund Raising Event Successful

Success often comes like a thief in the night. It is never expected, but is very well planned.

This goes the same for every activity that requires well organized planning in order to reach success. So to speak, nothing beats a well-planned activity or event.

Take for example fund raising activities. Before organizations can carry out their goals, they must first properly plan each fund raising event that they want to execute. A well-planned fund raising event can definitely reap victory.

However, as easy as it may sound, achieving success in a fund raising activity is not an easy job. It takes a lot of courage, determination, perseverance, and brainstorming before an organization can reach their goals.

For this reason, it is extremely important that every fundraiser should delve more on the factors that will generate success. Here are some of the factors that you need to consider:

1. Have a definite goal

Raising money to help street children isn't a goal. It should be more concrete, more specific. In order to be successful in your group’s fund raising event, your group’s goals must be more defined and classified.

For instance, if you want to raise funds for your group’s operations regarding street children, it would be better if you limit your intentions for raising some funds for street children in a specific area. In this way, you can research more on it; therefore, you will know where to focus your fundraising ideas and your group can clearly state how much money you need to raise.

2. Choose the best type of fund raising

Soliciting money and donations aren't necessarily limited to mere asking for money. In order for your fund raising event to be successful, choose a specific type of activity. This will correspond to the goal that you have. For instance, if you need a big amount of money, you should choose fund raising activities that will cleave to “large-scale” events such as charity walks or “casino night.”

3. Put some glamour in your fund raising event

In order to secure your fundraising event’s success, it would be wise to add some glamour to it. You may invite some prominent people to be your guest speakers during the opening ceremony. It has always been a well-known fact that celebrities and other prominent people can really make great impacts at any event.

Given all that, organizing a fund raising event is sure to reap success. Just keep in mind that everything will fall into place if you have the right plan.

Hi Paul,

I stumbled on your blog/site and I saw what you are doing and the ideas you post up. I think it is great and encouraging.. I am a fellow Christian from Korean Community Church in Buena Park, CA. My youth pastor ask me to help him do some fundraising a few months back and I thought about how to raise money effectively and efficiently.. We usually raise money through yardsales and carwash. Sometimes we have the high school students help us raise money by asking people for donation in front of the local supermarkets. I was looking for a better way to reach the people we know and I was looking for an online tool or medium but I wasn't able to find a good one. I went online and I was looking for something that can help us spread the words of what we are looking to do (at that time was trying to raise money for new musical instruments) but I wasn't able to find something good. We eventually did the usual way of fundraising (yardsales) and we raised $700 at the time. Which was good and praise God for that.

A month went by and I think God gave me a vision to help out the Christian community. What it was is that we are now in the internet age and in the old days we have to write letter to people that we know that we are trying to raise money for a certain cause. Nowadays we have the internet social network, blogs and emails. What we came out with was a Christian fundraising website http://www.gloriousblessing.com/index.aspx?cmd=view&page=whatis and what it does is it provides the Christian community with a free fundraising homepage. People can create their free homepage and post up their message and pictures and email their friends and families through our emailing system or post up their homepage link to their blog or social webpage(myspace, friendster, facebook, diggs, etc.) and wait for the blessings to come. They can either receive donation straight to their paypal accounts or the person asking for donation can put their mailing address on the homepage where people can send them the checks. People can also leave their message and more importantly pray for them. We will be updating the sites with more features (blogs, forums, chats, news, and classifieds). This site is dedicated to the Christian community and we are also developing another site http://www.warmblessing.com/index.aspx?cmd=view&page=whatis (still need work on this site-but almost ready) that is dedicated in helping individuals raise money for different causes (non-religious, non-organizational, non-political fundraising site) in that site people can raise money from tuitions, medical bill expense, weddings, or many other reasons.

What this vision is about is to help out the community and help people to either be blessed or be the blessings! Let me know what you think. God bless you!

The dentists at Libertyville Dental Associates helped set up a team sports fundraiser with the Libertyville, Gurnee, and Grayslake community to provide mouthguards for local sports teams. The unique idea was to give back to the community a service that every athlete could benefit from. This allowed the young athletes to promote their sport to others in a productive and meaningful way, while raising funds to travel for competition. If you would like more information about setting up a mouthguard program contact us at www.libertyvilledental.com
